Hat channel
A hat channel is a type of metal furring channel. It is typically made from light gauge, corrosion resistant material (such as aluminium or steel) and can be used for framing in roof and wall construction as well as masonry and ceiling construction.
It is called a hat channel becuase its section resembles the shape of a hat.
